Upcoming Training: Identifying Funding Options for Sustainable Solid Waste Systems

Join USAID’s Clean Cities, Blue Ocean program to learn more about Identifying Funding Options for Sustainable Solid Waste Systems, a resource which guides local governments to identify funding options that can support an economically sustainable waste management system.

This virtual training will provide an overview of the resource and examples of potential funding mechanisms, including special fees, taxes, revenues that can be generated from waste products, and innovative cost-of-service models—as well as strategies to pursue and leverage these alternative funding sources.

Through this training, participants will better understand: 

•    Self-generated funding options
•    Third party funding options
•    How local governments, such as those in the Philippines, have used the model to address their solid waste system revenue needs and successfully identify new funding streams

Participants will be invited to ask questions throughout the training, to be discussed at the close of the session.
