Hosted by USAID grantee Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation (PRRCFI), this panel discussion covers the unique challenges, opportunities, and approaches to reducing the use of plastic in the Philippines during the COVID-19 global pandemic. To commemorate #PlasticFreeJuly, PRRCFI discusses its new advocacy campaign in partnership with SM Supermalls and USAID, and the challenges of adapting their approach to meet COVID-19 related concerns. The panelists also touch on key questions such as public wariness of reusable items, increased packaging waste from public reliance on delivery services during lockdown, and the challenges of behavior change from a public health perspective.
